Dark artwork in Windows app

Description of Issue

All artwork is suddenly appearing very dark, as if it is being overlaid on black with some transparency/opacity set at half. This happens regardless of which Roon theme I use, and regardless of which Windows theme I use. The issue is only happening in the Windows client app (2.0 b1169).

Ok I seem to have fixed the issue so I’ll share my resolution here in case anyone encounters the same problem.

It’s down to a setting in AMD’s Adrenalin software wherein you can specify ‘10-Bit Pixel Format’. It’s a very niche setting given displays have to support 10-bit colour (which my Dell UP2716D displays do) so I doubt many people will ever encounter this. I recently updated my graphics driver and the Adrenalin software so am unsure if the setting became re-enabled or this wasn’t an issue before - I recall switching it on once ages ago, but perhaps I encountered some other problem and switched it off again.

The setting can be found under Graphics > Advanced, but given it’s off by default, you’ll already know where it is - I’ve attached a screenshot below to show how it looks, perhaps this is helpful to the developers as even though it’s a niche setting, I don’t see the issue in any other application.
