ddHifi TC44C DSD Issue

Hi,

I bought the ddHifi TC44C ear dac officially a few days ago, and plugged into my PC with a USB TypeC cable, through a ddHifi USB TypeC to TypeA converter.

After launching Roon client on my PC Windows 10, I can find the “TC44C” icon in “Audio” tag, and able to play wav/flac files upto 192kHz without problem. However, for DSD, it can only be selected with highest config DSD128, but according to the spec of TC44C, it can support upto DSD256.

I end up updating the firmware to my TC44C from ddHifi official web site, but it does not help.

Could any expert point out what I am missing?

Config:
Roon Core: Pachanko Labs Constellation Mini SE
(all wired).

Thanks.

A matching Windows device driver that enables native DSD data transfer, without you’re stuck with DSD over PCM (DoP) limited to DSD128.

The manufacturer website says:

Warm reminders:
For OS system and most Window computer, there is no need to install a separate driver; If the TC44Pro can not be recognized by the certain Window computer, please download the driver via >> click here
*When playing music on your computer, please select the audio output deviceTC44Pro
When using ASIO output on Windows, please select the device: BRAVO-HD

I’d think it should actually support up to DoP DSD256 with it’s capability to handle up to 384kHz PCM, no?

44.1 kHz * 128 / 16 = 352.8 kHz | Is your math different?
DSD256 doubles the speed required, so PCM768 is needed.
