Describe the issue
Denon 250 and 350 an AVR6700X don't play music via airplay 2. Since update 250 and 350 appear twice (1: airplay, 2: raat) in the settings. Denon AVR doesn't have RAAT. Before, I could use multiroom with those three devices, now it only works between 250 and 350. So, the Denon AVR has become "useless". Airplay is possible in the app to execute, but no sound appears. Please help. Multiroom between the three devices made me buy a nucleus. Now, that advantage is gone. Multiroom still does work ion the HEOS app between all devices.
I’ve gone ahead and enabled diagnostics mode for your account. This means that the next time your Roon Server is active, a set of logs will automatically be generated and uploaded to our servers for further analysis.
In the meantime, could you kindly share a screenshot of your Signal Path while playing to the devices as a group, as well as the Audio Settings > Devices screen? This will help us better understand how the system is currently detecting (or not detecting) your endpoints.
thanks for your Support. I‘ m sending you the Signal Path Screenshots from the 3 AirPlay devices playing as a group. In this Modus, I can solely Hear Audio through the Denon AVR 6700, But Not through the 250 and 350 although the Interface says they would Play music.
Also, I‘m sending Screenshots of Signal Paths of 250 and 350 which are Displayed as Roon ready But are physically the same as the above mentioned AirPlay devices. In this Setting,
Audio is Played through Both devices. But then, I Cannot group them with the Denon AVR.
Also, I‘m sending you the view of all Devices in Setting -Audio. Hopefully, this is What you Need.
Thanks for the screenshots and follow-up! Have you tested out enabling the airplay compatibility toggle on your issue Denon devices? Let me know if you’re able to get playback when enabled.
You’re correct in that when streaming via Roon Ready, you won’t be able to group other streaming protocols together (like Airplay)
RAAT (Roon Ready) devices can only group with other RAAT devices
AirPlay devices can only group with other AirPlay devices
So your Denon (AirPlay-only) can’t be grouped with the 250 & 350 when they’re set to RAAT
Also, if you haven’t yet:
Stop Roon Server (safely)
Reboot your server machine, endpoints, as well as your router
Test playback again and see if you still have issues.
I checked our system and the Denon 250 and 350 are indeed Roon Ready devices certified quite recently, so it is expected to see them listed as such. For the Airplay compatability, just to confirm you have tried to set this setting in Roon Device Setup → Show Advanced?
Thanks for your advice. AirPlay compatibility was checked and switched on. But you know what? I unchecked it just for fun and it is now working properly. So, without compatibility Mode I‘m Fine, now.
Is There an explanation for this?
