Denon X2500H Roon tested?

Hi there,
I got a Denon X2500H and the Roon page says it is Roon Tested. Unfortunately the Roon app says that there is a problem with the device as the manufacturer did not finish the certification process. So I cannon activate it. Really?
I just want to activate the device, but instead the message from below appears.

Can anyone help please?

I have moved your post over to Support.

According to the Roon Partners page, this device is Roon Tested.

This means that Roon will recognize the X2500H when it is connected directly to the Roon Server or a Roon Bridge using USB.

Please describe how you are using the device.

You keep forgetting all HEOS devices Roon Tested is Airplay.

That explains it. Somehow, calling an AirPlay enabled device Roon Ready seems misleading. Roon Ready implies RAAT.

So, to be clear, these devices are Roon Tested, i.e., when connected to Roon Bridge or Roon Server using USB or HDMI, they will be identified in Roon.

Denon and Marantz devices are currently undergoing Roon Ready certification in Roon Labs; until that is completed, these devices will show as not certified.

However, this does not mean that they cannot be used with Roon. They can be connected as Roon endpoints either via using Airplay over the network, or by using HDMI or USB (if the device has a USB input intended for audio connection - some devices only support USB storage devices)

Er - it’s Roon Tested; not Roon Ready… I think you are misleading yourself :slightly_smiling_face:

I believe this resulted from many Denon/Marantz devices appearing as Roon ready over the past months rather than Roon tested. This changed again a couple of days ago.

Yes, I made that point in my opening post. @Simon_Arnold3’s reply threw me, and I thought that AirPlay was the only connection method.

@Johannes_Scherbaum - you might check whether your Denon has the latest firmware installed. I believe that there has just been a firmware release for some devices, and when installed, the false “Roon Ready - uncertified” message is no longer displayed in Roon.

Normally, manufacturers working with Roon Labs to get their devices certified as Roon Ready do so with a build of their firmware that is not yet released to the general public, so the testing is done privately in Roon Labs. So we normally never get to see the “uncertified” messages.
