Device not recognized by Roon Server after update with Gentoo player and Diretta device (ref#CBF5GL)

What best describes your playback issue?

· My DAC, streamer, or speaker doesn't appear as a Zone in Roon

What type of Zone is affected by this problem?

· *Directly-connected Zones* are affected.

Is your RoonServer machine running MacOS 15 Sequoia or above?

· I still can't see my endpoints as available Zones.

Is the affected network Zone connected with Ethernet or WiFi?

· Ethernet

Which network audio protocol is the Zone using with Roon?

· RoonReady

Does the device show up at all in Roon Settings -> Audio?

· Yes, it shows up there, but it isn't Enabled

Does the "Enable" button unlock the Zone?

· I pressed Enable, but the Zone remains disabled

Does the device play audio from another source when using the same connection?

· The device has no problems with another audio source

Have you checked that Roon is whitelisted in any firewalls?

· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains

Since you are using a network connection to the device, please ensure that your RoonServer is on the same subnet as the device

· My devices are on a single subnet but is not visible to Roon

Do you have a complex network setup?

· Both the device and RoonServer are connecting to a *single router*

Try to disable any additional networking interfaces on your RoonServer machine.

· Disabling network interfaces had no change in behavior

Check to make sure RoonReady mode is selected on the device.

· I've checked this and the issue remains

Is the device using the latest firmware as per the manufacturer?

· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

· As i said since last Roon update : 2,53 (build 1544)

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· Diretta device USB

Describe the issue

Device usually connected to ROON SERVER (and works well) now "not found "
I use Gentoo player on PC and Diretta device.
It doesn't work since i made the update.
Diretta device works well directly (Diretta Memory Play Controller), but not with ROON.
I can send screenshots...
Thanks in advance.

Hey @Jean-Bernard_Massonn,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! It’s good to see you on the community again.

Before anything else, please safely stop your Roon Server, and then reboot your server machine, endpoints, as well as your router, and then attempt to reconnect and let me know how it goes.

If you still have issues, can you then confirm that all your Roon devices are functioning within the same local subnet? I’d double check your router settings and confirm there are no other active subnets that your devices could migrate to.

We’ll be on standby for your reply and results, thank you! :folded_hands:

Hi,

thanks for your advice.

Let me inform you that for the past few years that I have been using this configuration everything has always worked very well (i don’t think it is about subnet, i didn’t change anything).

On the other hand, playback with Diretta Memory play (with Shakerato Diretta device) works perfectly as is.

It is only since I updated that it no longer works: Diretta device (Diretta ASIO 0_143_13) Gentoo Player (update) and ROON

Thanks.

Hello @Jean-Bernard_Massonn,

In your Gentoo player diagnostic data, we see the same error as in Roon, that the Device is busy. So, most probably, some applications hold the Device in the exclusive mode.

If it’s working with the Diretta, it’s worth checking if any Exclusive mode settings may be disabled.

Hello,

Thanks for your return.

The screen shot was made as i was playing music wu-ith Diretta Memory Play, that’s why it was busy.
Her is the complete System info.

Hello @Jean-Bernard_Massonn

Would you kindly share the screenshot of the About window under the Roon-> Settings?

Your stack trace shows the same error as we see in the screenshot, that the device is busy.

I wonder if this is a normal message, but I’ll check.

Sorry, i don’t understand the window you are asking ? In Roon App ? in GP ?

Hello @Jean-Bernard_Massonn

Directly in the Roon application
