Devices Disappeared from Roon Settings/Audio except Apple AirPlay (ref#V1JLIP)

What’s happening?

I'm having trouble with my DAC, speakers, streamer, etc.

What best describes the issue with your audio device?

My device used to show up in Settings > Audio, now it's gone

All endpoints other than Apple AirPlay have gone from Roon - not being seen in Settings/Audio either. Core is on M1 Mac Mini, files on Synology DS918+. Tried a reboot of Mac, NAS and also network server (Ubiquiti UDMSE hosted network). No joy. Both my RoPieee have gone, as have my Chromecast devices

Ben with support here - thanks for writing in! I was able to pull your account up and wanted to see if you were still having issues with devices disappearing?

If so, let me know which specific devices keep dropping off, along with the date and time when it happens. Thanks!

Hi Ben and thanks for reaching out to me.

I believe that this is due to VPN - 90% of the time, wired endpoints disappear when VPN is active, however, it isn’t 100% of the time.

I’ve got the latest RoPieee firmwares running and it has helped, but like I say, it’s not 100% of the time that the VPN (Nord) is running.

The Roon server is running via a M1 Mac Mini which is running headless 24/7, hence the need for a VPN.
