· Albums from DG that are available in Qobuz do either not show up in Roon or are listed as unavailable. Examples: latest album by Maria Duenas with Halvorsen violin concerto (not in Roon) and latest albums of Mahlers symphonies with Andris Nelsons and Wiener Philharmonics (listed as Unavailable in Roon).
Both of these albums are recent releases that haven’t yet been exposed to Roon via the Qobuz API catalog. It takes some time for new releases, up to two weeks, to reach the API catalog. Roon can’t control the timeline, but if you don’t see both of these releases in Roon by Monday, let us know, and we’ll escalate to Qobuz directly.
Certain releases with have a pre-release object that doesn’t have any actual data streams enabled; this is the case for the second object you reported, the Mahler Symphony No. 1-4 collection.
Thanks for a very quick response. But, it all sounds very strange to me. Why should it take up to two weeks for certain albums to appear in Roon? And, why a pre-release object with out any actual streams when the album has been released in Qobuz (and Apple Music, Spotify and what have you)?
Why aren’t the latest albums on Qobuz available in Roon?
When you’re browsing Qobuz in Roon, you’re seeing Roon’s Qobuz database, not a direct pass-through of what’s shown on Qobuz – that’s why there’s so much more metadata, like recording dates, lyrics, links to composers, credits, etc.
This is also why Roon can sometimes be slightly behind Qobuz when a brand new release comes out – our database is generated daily, but sometimes a new album will just barely miss the cutoff and will show up in a day or two.
When this happens you can add the new release directly in the Qobuz app. It will then appear in your Roon library.
Most of the time this is the reason. Sometimes, like apparently in the Maria Duenas case, there is really an issue with data that’s missing permanently and then Roon Labs will have to investigate
By the way, I just tried and saw that I can play the Mahler symphonies in Roon anyway, even though they show as unavailable
Thanks. New releases can take up to two weeks to reach Roon through the Qobuz catalog, so please give it until about November 6. If either album is still missing or unavailable after that, please let us know here and we’ll escalate it to Qobuz.
