Yes, very annoying.
It has been doing that for quite some time. Honestly I don’t know if I ever seen it otherwise.
Does the color of the pixels change when you scroll through your collection? It does with me and it seems like the app takes another line of pixels and adds it to the end of the screen. I tried to add a screenshot but when I add it to my list the forum software removes the outer line of pixels so you can’t see what it is about. 
Known issue, same on pixel 2 XL.
