When changing albums, 20% of the time I will get a distorted signal coming from the speakers. The only way to correct this is to shut down roon and restart. This will happen when changing to both hard drive sourced albums or Qobuz albums. I have a movie file with the audio but it’s not letting me attach it.
I’m also finding that Roon is skipping tracks of an album, sometimes only playing four tracks from an 11 track album. I’ve only noticed this with hard drive sourced albums. If I manually select the tracks, they will play perfectly.
The combination of these issues is making listening to an enjoying music very difficult at the moment.

The sound you’re describing sounds like a clocking mismatch between Roon and an endpoint. I think it would be most efficient to learn the full details of your wired setup here.
You mention BNC cables - are you clocking externally off of the Qutest DAC in this setup? What device do you have selected for the clock source in your Mac Audio Midi Setup (visible in the Audio Midi Setup up under Applications → Utilities).

In the meantime, the technical support team will review diagnostic messages sent from your Roon Server to investigate the track-skipping issues. We attempted to pull these automatically, but your Server machine doesn’t appear to be online. At your convenience, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.
Digital distortion and irregularity in the queue are likely two separate underlying causes, the latter more likely the result of instability somewhere in the network. Logs should tell us more.
We’ll keep an eye out for your response and let you know what we find in logs.

Description of Issue
This is a repost. I put this up a few months back but then I had a personal situation that took all my focus so I didn’t get to reply on time.
When changing albums, 20% of the time I will get a distorted signal coming from the speakers. Some times if I change the album the new album will play fine, but generally the way to correct this is to shut down roon and restart. This will happen when changing to both hard drive sourced albums or Qobuz albums. I have a movie file with the audio which I can send to you.
This is exactly the same system as I used with an older MacMini, which had worked faultlessly for four years. It has only happened since I upgraded the Mac four or five months ago. We use the same sonic path for Spotify, streaming tv, movies etc, and the problem has only occurred with Roon.
I’m also finding that Roon is skipping tracks of an album, sometimes only playing four tracks from an 11 track album. I’ve only noticed this with hard drive sourced albums. If I manually select the tracks, they will play perfectly.
