Get one of these instead. About the same price as a Powerwall, but ecologically friendly, and not likely to blow up
Why would you not want the most exciting feature?
ā¢giggle.ā¢ + a few
Interesting technology - I need to do some further reading. Weāre aiming to put in a fairly substantial solar PV system which should allow us, to all intents and purposes, go āoff-gridā. Obviously, thereās a need for a substantial battery capacity and up to now Teslaās Powerwall has been the recommended solution.
I thought the power wall only stored power to charge the car at night. Did they change that?
Itās a mahoosive great battery with an inverter connected to your mains supply - you can use the juice however you choose. I guess they marketed it at electric car owners initiallyā¦
Photography - Iām well known for my grunge shots from the '80ās/'90ās.
Yeah, lots of hidden costs - like the $400 print head I need to replace yearly - or the $12k Imacon scanner that went bust on me last year (irreplaceable motherboard, but at least I got a good 16 years out of it). In some ways darkroom prints were almost easier, in that even the āoffā ones usually looked pretty good a few days later, and quest good after a few decades. I was a master printer, but the chemistry was killing me. Donāt miss that, though now stuck in front of a monitor. Ok, back to itā¦
He he, this guy is saying exactly the same as I did 2 days ago in my ālectureāā¦ How can that beā¦
And going to original subject of this thread, hereās one more (sorry for YT spam).
Pretty obvious things for people with basic knowledge I would say. But some needs to see data and facts to accept reality.
And ethernet cables just to complete the list of cables :
I think thereās an objective assumption that speaker cables donāt/canāt make a difference.
However, that assumption is based on a cable being designed to have low resistance, low capacitance and low inductance. Unfortunately, many high-end cables can have far from ideal electrical characteristics which means, in fact, that they do have an effect on the frequency response of the speakers to which they are connected.
Going back to Douglasā post about the Transparent Music Wave cable earlier, there was an impact on frequency response which was clearly audible and scientifically explicable. The cable had a ānetworkā incorporated within it which was clearly a passive high pass filter.
Iām not for a moment advocating spending thousands of units of your local currency on high-end cables to improve sound. Well designed cables, like everything else hi-fi should be neutral, i.e. not have a distinctive or characteristic sound.
Some cables do have a distinct sound to them and that is certainly not a good thing.
Speaker cables shouldnāt make a difference, but sometimes they do. Understanding why they make that difference is of fundamental importance.
I find it absurd that you want your cables to do nothing. The job of cables like every other piece of gear in my set-up are chosen to get me closer to the sound I want to hear. Buying anything that does nothing is a waste of money.
There is an argument that doing nothing is providing what you want. If the source, amplifier and speakers are chosen because they produce music how you want to hear it then cables that do nothing allow all that through.
There is also an argument that if you need cables to change your sound then maybe itās masking something else.
There is also an argument that you donāt want to hear what the artist intended (or mixer) so you are suiting the system to sound how you want.
There is an argument for graphic equalisers to really personalise.
There are lots of arguments and in the end itās all down to individual choice rather than absurdity in my opinion.
All cables do something, or they should. That task is to get a signal from point A to point B.
Now if one wishes to corrupt that signal for personal preference, then so be it. Nothing wrong with that, itās a choice in the world of Hot Rod Hi Fi designā¦
hahaha. Great explanation Profesor to all people who understand what You are saying. You are talking about measurable things, not about opinions. On other side, there is always people who wants to spend lots of money for stuppid things, but this is their decission. Thers is no any reason, but this is their right
thanks for great answer.
I would like to read any peer reviewed publication of this professor of electronics. What university hosts this scientist?
Aprilās fool joke. If you mean some will appreciate it in a hahahaha fashion then yes, but I cannot imagine that anybody will āAppreciateā this
You plant deniers are all alike!
