I doubt we’ll ever see Roon integration, but it’d be awesome if we did.
In the meantime, I really enjoy the Marvis app integration with Apple Music. It’s allowed me to make a number of smart playlists and organize my library more effectively.

This has been suggested so many times , apparently despite all Roon’s efforts Apple will not play ball on the database acess requirements to “make Roon happen”
According to Danny they would, but the problems are elsewhere.
From friends that work at Apple… this kind of thing has always been about the contracts Apple negotiated with the labels. There’s usually no room for manoeuvre without affecting previously agreed costs. They didn’t seek permission to support this kind of integration and now the labels will say they have to be paid more to allow it. It could still come with future renegotiations.
Apple always gets tarred with this keep-it-proprietary brush. That’s usually just around their own “closed” IP.
They’ve had 24/192 ALAC since June 2021. ALAC is wide open. I can’t see them offering FLAC all of a sudden. Maybe, if they reinvent the iTunes Store and offer a choice of downloadable formats.
They’ve always supported the FLAC format in the hardware/OS but have never supported its playback in the native clients… most likely to bolster ALAC. It would be about time for them to just start allowing Apple Music to support local FLAC files.
They use something called AOSP - as opposed to mainstream Android… but we just call it Android.
AOSP (Android Open Source Project) lets anyone build their own version of Android without having super tight contracts with Google. So, it looks like they’ve rooted stuff but technically they can establish their own root control and step beyond bounds set in the standard Android. Providing they’ve followed the policies set for AOSP, they get to legitimately provide Google Play Services. Although this will also be with Google’s approval.
Hello, I just read that Sonos S2 supports higher res music so it might play the higher res music through just Sonos app and phone app control. I already figured that out running a dac and the stereo and Ethernet cable adapter and a aux cable to get the flac and higher music files to play through my eras 100’s and use WiFi to my arc and it sounds great. Now just working on getting Roon Nucleus One to get dsd 256 playing then I am golden on audio. Take care, Chris Peterson
