So the PC (NUC) is connected to the AVR via HDMI? And from the PC (NUC) you are running from the Tidal Desktop app?

yes, exactly. Pretty simple setup.The PC plays Atmos from other sources w/o an issue. Could very well be that Tidal limits its output to 2 channel PCM running on windows. Same story when I when I select a Google TV puck as output.
