What you are proposing is a change of paradigm. Which is fine, but the consequences are far greater than just creating a flipping switch to suit your preferences. We’ll see what happens in time – and of course, in the mean time there’s no one stopping you from thoroughly enjoying iTunes + Bitperfect or the Volumio/Minimserver/BubbleUPnP combo if these serve your needs for excellent UX.
