A nice start. I’m still missing the individual specs for the supported streaming services / protocols though. I assume that Roon Ready and Tidal Connect will play up to the 192 kHz limit with respective material but Spotify Connect likely not and AirPlay and Google Cast for sure not last I checked.
There are (support) threads here on a regular basis of people wondering why their playback is limited to 44.1 kHz 16 bit while using Airplay for example. So it seems obvious that people don’t know the limitations just out of their head. Why can manufacturers not simly list them and make it clear to customers what they can expect when using AirPlay or Google Cast? Do they expect customers to ask Apple / Google / Roon (and ?maybe? manufacturer) support every time? For streaming services like Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect etc., how about a note that the respective service providers are in control of the offered sample rates and may depend on a users subscription level but can’t exceed the published hardware spec for playback?
