Chord Qutest attached by both USB, and Optical

Description Of Issue

There are no DSD options available when using optical connection, all DSD files are converted to PCM before playback. Device is identified as Qutest, no DSPs active, exclusive mode switched on. Over USB however all options are available, and files play directly to the device with no conversion (over DoP). Is it how it is supposed to be?

The mid-2010 Mac mini [Toslink] has a max sample rate of 24bit 96kHz, so I doubt the Toslink interface can handle DSD64 or DoP.

It"s Ok, optical and coax can’t support native DSD. You must use DoP or USB for DSD

PCM support for up to 32-bit/768kHz audio via coax and USB
Optical support at 24-bit/192kHz
DSD64 is supported on the optical input (DoP)
DSD128 is supported by a single coax digital input (DoP)

Hello @Tytus_Suski,

@Martin_Webster is correct, the Mac mini mid-2010 is limited to 24/96 on it’s Toslink output.

For DSD DoP playback the output must support 24/176.4kHz at a minimum.
