DSP Upsampling Causes Audio Muting on Mac OS 26.2 (ref#SVTJWC)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· When i use the DSP to upsample it mutes all audio playback, Turning off upsampling in DSP and the sound returns however i want to be able to upsample. I am on the latest version of roon as well as the latest version of Mac OS 26.2 tahoe.

I first noticed it on this previous Sunday and it’s happened everyday since. I tried it earlier today and had the same result. I’m sorry I can’t provide a more precise timestamp as you requested.

Is there an update? Can you provide a direct email? i would be happy to go back and forth. The issue is still persisting.

Is it normal for you never to reply to a service request?

Support is on Mon-Friday East Coast US time. So, I would expect to hear something tomorrow when the support team is working.

We have reviewed the diagnostics from your computer, and everything appears to be functioning normally on Roon’s side. The logs show that Roon is streaming audio successfully, and your DAC is actually sending a confirmation back to the software that it is receiving the signal.

Since Roon “thinks” music is playing, this strongly suggests the issue lies within the DAC’s internal settings or how it handles specific formats.

Recommended Steps:

  1. Adjust DSD Strategy:

    In Roon, go to Device Setup for your DAC and look for DSD Playback Strategy.

    • If it is set to "DSD over PCM (DoP)," try changing it to "Convert to PCM" temporarily.
    • If sound returns, we know the DAC is struggling to lock onto the DSD signal.
  2. Check DAC Settings:

    Please verify the physical settings or the driver control panel for your DAC to ensure it is set to the correct input and sample rate mode to accept the stream from your Roon Server.

Please let us know if adjusting these settings restores the audio for you.

the upsampling restored as if nothing happened late Sunday night. Prior to that selecting the upsample button muted all sound. Is there an easier way to reach you guys if the problem happens again? It was happening for about 10 days straight prior to this.
