Description Of Issue

I have some wave files that were given to me by friends. When I played them in Roon, I can hear only white noise. They played fine with jriver.

See if you can figure that out. Thanks!

Cheers,
Ray

Could the wav audio files contain a DTS encoded signal?

If so, jriver is able to decode. Roon is not able to decode resulting in white noise.

I’ve confirmed that they are DTS encoded. Is there a workaround that anybody can suggest?

Send the DTS stream from Roon to an external DTS decoder (I use a Meridian surround sound processor).

And the stream has to pass through unaltered; no DSP, volume leveling, etc in Roon.

Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! I have asked my friend who has suggested using Foobar to do the conversion. It works fine.
