Describe the issue

Often, Classical track titles are duplicated on screen. This seems to particularly affect single-part works where what is presented on the screen is the WORK title twice, separated by a colon delimiter. I post below an identified example, just now, which I added to my library from Qobuz. But I am finding this is quite common whenever I add a Classical album to my library.

Hello @tripleCrotchet,

Thank you for reaching Roon support. We will check the behaviour with the Qobuz composition on our end.

It might be helpful to have the file(s) from the local library for testing on our end as well. Can you please upload them here and let us know?

These are predominantly Qobuz files I notice this with, not local. I’ll try and find a few more examples if I can remember. But mostly I have manually edited out the duplications already.

I have seen it happen with local files as well. It is not just Qobuz. But the difference is that I almost never add a Classical album to my library without editing it beforehand, especially, normalizing with allmusic titles and splitting out WORK/PARTs. So the remaining local instances with issues are much less and in most cases I have also already edited out the duplications. Next time I notice this locally I can upload.

Hello @tripleCrotchet

We’ve discussed this with our senior QA and development teams. The team is investigating some possibilities here and, as soon as that investigation is complete, we’ll be sure to follow up ASAP.

You have our apologies for the trouble here, and we’ve greatly appreciated your patience as we continue investigating this tricky issue. We’ll be in touch as soon as we can.

Hi @vadim,

I actually raised a similar post 10 months ago in August of last year with additional (Qobuz) examples. @joel said an internal ticket was raised at that time but all that happened was that the post was closed after 14 days so I don’t know if it was ever really looked at or if a ticket is current:

Hello @tripleCrotchet,

Thank you for your continued engagement and for providing additional details around the duplication of track titles in classical albums. We can confirm that this issue has already been escalated to our R&D team for further investigation.

We’ve also followed up with them again to revisit the matter within the context of their current development roadmap. While we don’t have a specific timeframe to share at this point, please rest assured that the issue remains on their radar and is under review.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.
