Will this feature in v1.3 only report an overall album DR value or will it also have track DR data. How about peak and RMS values? Will it show “over” clipping? If you display peak values could you please have an option for showing L/R because (L+R)/2 often won’t show clipping.

Both.
How about peak and RMS values? Will it show “over” clipping?
It will compute the “true peak” according to R128 standards. This is not cheap–it requires upsampling the source material and then the highest peak in the upsampled version, in order to accurately account for inter-sample overs, but it should produce the result you’re after.
We don’t plan on measuring RMS. As I understand it, in the R128 scheme, you’ll be using “Loudness” and “Loudness Range” similarly to how you would use “RMS” and “DR” in other systems.

We are not planning to show per-channel info, but the peak values are based on the maximum sample peak from either channel, not the average, so no clipping will be hidden from you.
That’s clean. Thanks!
+1 to Dynamic Range analysis essential for any music lover
+1 on using DRi for calculating “dynamic range” metadata.

Yup, agreed! As the creators of both the DR Dynamic Range standard and of the popular DRMeter MkII product, which supports both DRi and 1770 (“R128”) Loudness, we are well aware that no single method will provide subjective correlation for all types of music and audio entertainment. That said, integrated DR or DRi is overwhelmingly the most popular method for measuring and understanding dynamic range. Unlike crest factor and any of the several 1770 metrics, DRi correlates well with most genres and particularly pop music, for which it was designed.
I would like to request to add a decimal place to the reported album Dynamic Range similarly to how it is reported at the track level: x.y LU?
Recently, while selecting version of the Cure in my library there were many that could be distinguished this way becuase they do have different mastering but not able to determine this with just an integer. I had a similar problem curating my David Bowie titles.
Mahalo!

+1 for Joshua’s request as long as it is properly labeled as “LRA,” not “Dynamic Range.”
