Dynamic Range value displayed for an album is wrong

Hi,

I’m using MAAT’s DROffline tool to externally calculate the dynamic range for albums.
Yesterday I added the digital download version of an album to my library where DROffline calculated an album DR value of “5” with track DR values ranging from 4 to 6.
After adding the album to my roon library, roon’s displayed DR value says “8” (yes, it’s the exact same version of the album).

Why the discrepancy?

As I understand it, Roon uses a different approach to many when measuring. There’s some info about it here:-

Love this feature. When I import music from Qobuz into Roon, this information is never present. I won’t listen to anything with compressed dynamic range and it’s a nice screening tool. If it’s conventional metadata, I’d like to urge Qobuz to deploy it. BTW, the suggested music keeps getting better. I often have a planned listening session, only to be delightfully led away by Roon’s music suggestions. Keep up the great work!

There’s a feature request to eliminate some of the confusion:

Select "R128" or "Crest Factor" DR

A switch setting to select either “R128” or “Crest Factor” Dynamic Range. Adding Crest Factor DR would allow an easy comparison with http://dr.loudness-war.info, whereas R128 does not.
