EarlyAccess Operating System won't go back to Production

Good morning! I need your help. I’ve tried numerous times to reinstall the production build as a replacement for Version 2.1 (build 270) early access, but it won’t go back. I’ve followed the guidelines multiple times, but no luck. I really don’t want to rebuild the NUC, but my perfectionism is getting the better of me. HELP! (is greatly appreciated).

What guidelines did you follow? These (in this Help article)?

Moving RoonOS (Nucleus / ROCK) servers back to production

  1. Download the instruction file and save it on your computer. Do not modify the name, extension, or content of this file.

  2. Navigate to the /Data/Reinstall directory on your Nucleus / ROCK.

  3. Copy the instruction file that you downloaded into the Reinstall directory.

  4. Visit the RoonOS admin page and click on the “Reinstall” button.

Note that the downloaded file must be called roon-production.bin. If you download this file more than once it will probably be renamed by your PC operating system to roon-production (n).bin, where n is the number of duplicate copies that have been downloaded. You’ll need to clear out the earlier downloads and rename the last download to the correct name.

Hi @Geoff_Coupe, Thanks for responding. Yes, I followed those directions and made sure that the file name was correct. Do you have any other ideas?

Hmm - just tried this for myself, and seeing the same issue as you - Roon OS remains on the early access build… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Paging @support - what’s going on?

Weird huh…

same here:

Just realised that the wording in the help article is somewhat confusing. It implies that following the steps will move Roon OS from early access to Production, but actually what it is doing is moving Roon from Early Access to Production.

It’s a different file that needs to be placed in the Reinstall directory to deal with moving Roon OS from Early Access to Production - and I don’t know where the link to that is. It may have been mentioned in the EA forum; I’ll need to search for it…

Edit: it’s here:

Yup, that works…

You need to install the roonos-production.bin file…

Ah, i was in the exact same situation a couple of months back!
I also found the roonos-file through searching the forum, not the KB…

That did it!!! Finally, everything is back to the production release, and I can rest my OCD. Thank you all for solving it!!!
