Description Of Issue

The Elac Discovery and/or Roon Essentials app cannot detect the KEF speakers. Other devices on the network such as an Apple TV are detected by the Elac Discovery. The full version of Roon running on a Mac does detect the KEF LS50 Wireless speakers and the Elac Discovery on the network. All other features of the Elac Discovery and Roon Essentials app work nominally including the integration of Tidal and connecting to network storage.

I have also contacted Elac to help resolve the issue. The most recent troubleshooting step was to install the full version of Roon. Again, the full version of Roon does connect to the KEF speakers on my network. The only function of the entire architecture that does not work is the Elac Discovery detection/connection to the KEF LS50 Wireless speakers.

Protocol maybe?

Hi @Schmedlap,

Roon Essentials and Roon are different products, and have different product capabilities. Essentials customers are entitled to direct support from Elac.

While we’re happy for both products to be discussed on Community, for support you will definitely want to contact Elac directly for any questions about Roon Essentials and it’s limitations in regard to your steup.

Thanks!
