Endless loop when signing into Roon Mac OS desktop app (ref#FF4WMV)

Description of Issue

When trying to sign into the Mac OS desktop app, it opens my browser, which signs in and sends me back to the app, which asks me to sign in and sends me to the browser (endless loop). Please help!

Do you have popups disabled on the web browser. Sometimes that can interfere with the process.

Tried that - pop-ups are allowed, as is all content.

Thank you for your patience. If you’re still experiencing this issue, I recommend three steps in order of escalation:

  1. Set a different default browser on the Mac and then attempt to sign in again.

  2. Fully refresh your RoonServer and Roon installs on the affected Mac:

  • Make a Backup of your current RoonServer Database
  • Exit out of RoonServer
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On any additional Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
  1. Verify your DNS server is reliable in your browser administration, and that any additional network security isn’t interfering. Most users report Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS as the most reliable.
