I’ll test via the laptop too, As I mentioned right at the start, Roon is on an Antipodes server, feeding the main stereo, so I’m using my laptop/phone/ipad as remote controls primarily, but playing out through my laptop now, and will report back on stability.
playback via mac seemed stable for the length of an album. However 7:20 - 7:30pm NZT repeated drop offs, zone disappeared, got an “oh oh… message” then it eventually reappeared.
8:12 - 8:14pm, Track: Stars of the Lid - Mullholland. dropped off repeatedly, not restarting the track at that point, pressing play has either a delayed response or goes to “waiting for your roon server” message. Track has stopped 3 or 4 times in the first minute.
Got it, thanks for giving that a try @Andrew_Turley - we’ll be in touch when we have more updates around the fix to share. ![]()
It seems like everything has settled down, both laptop and phone apps load first time, end point is visible, plays as expected so far today without drop-outs or lost end points. How? What’s changed?
Hey @Andrew_Turley,
Thanks for the update! Since your last post, there haven’t been any updates or changes made. How have the last 24 hours been for you?
So given we’ve had no indication or information about what might be causing it, or what “fix” is being investigated, or even what the diagnostics are telling you (roon), what is actually being worked on?
If launching the app, and scrolling through the library kept resulting in the ‘waiting for roon server…’ issue, was it something to do with indexing? rescanning the library? what? And the dropping end point issue?
It seems like nobody who has been asking for support here has been given any info as to what actually is going on? It would be great to get some/any context!
meanwhile, it seems like maybe i’m a lucky one and everything has settled down, which again, why? If you guys haven’t actually done anything, and I’ve made no changes to configuration, network or any other aspect of my system, it’s still a mystery!
Hello @Andrew_Turley,
Thank you for the update.
Initially, we enabled an additional diagnostic mode for your account. After several restarts, it was successfully applied and resolved the issue. This mode is designed either to fix the disappearing device issue or to provide additional logging details if the problem persists.
Could you please share the approximate size of your library?
If you are still able to reproduce the issue while scrolling through the library, please let us know the exact timestamp when it occurs and from which remote device you’re performing the action. This will allow us to review the diagnostic data in detail. It is worth mentioning that this issue is not related to the device disappearing based on the description provided.
thats the thing though, the symptoms have all gone away, and everything is behaving normally again! Which is great! and awesome, and I’m very happy about that, but why did I have weeks of it just not working as expected?
Hi @Andrew_Turley,
We’re unfortunately not able to access any diagnostic reports that date back that far. It’s likely that the diagnostic mode @vadim mentioned above set things straight for your system.
This will be included in the next update as well, happy listening ![]()
