· Roon stopped working on my Synology NAS. I determined I need to do a new setup using Docker. I'm following the instructions for Method 2: DSM7.1 (Using the legacy Docker app). When I follow step 3 (Enter https://ghcr.io/roonlabs/roonserver:latest (leave the Hub Page blank) and click Add. Wait for the image to download.) I get an error in Docker -- "Invalid Docker Repository Url: https://ghcr.io/roonlabs/roonserver:latest. So I'm stuck and need help.
That step seems no longer works on current DSM versions. Synology’s older Docker app will not accept a registry address there, so it rejects it.
The way to get the image onto a DSM 7.1 NAS is over SSH. It is three commands.
In DSM, go to Control Panel, Terminal & SNMP and tick Enable SSH service, then Apply.
From your computer, connect to the NAS. On Windows open Command Prompt, on a Mac open Terminal, and type ssh youradminname@your-nas-ip-address, then enter your password.
The image will now be sitting in the Image tab of the Docker app, and you can carry on from step 4 of the guide, selecting it and clicking Launch. Everything after that in the article is correct.
Once Roon is running, please go back to Control Panel, Terminal & SNMP and untick Enable SSH service again, since there is no reason to leave it on.
Following up on our last exchange, did the SSH pull of the RoonServer image onto your Synology go through, and were you then able to continue from the Docker Image tab? If you ran into a snag with the DSM 7.1 steps we mentioned, reply with what happened and we can sort through it together. Please let us know where things stand so we can help from there.

Hi. I followed the revised instructions and it worked fine. Perhaps you could update the standard instructions to reflect the new approach so others don’t hit the dead end. Thanks, and I appreciate the follow up. Mark
You are right about the article, and we have logged that step for correction. Anyone on DSM 7.1 following Method 2 hits the same wall, because the legacy Docker app will not accept a registry address in Add From URL. The SSH pull is going in as the replacement.
Thank you for coming back to tell us. A step that fails silently for everyone is easy to miss on our side until someone says so.
