Error installing Roon bridge on Linux Fedora

iMac Ventura v13.4.1 and running Linux (Fedora 34) as a VM using Parallels Desktop.

Description of Issue

Hi all I’m new to Roon and rusty with Linux.

I’m running (or trying to run) roonbridge-installer-linuxx64.sh as a super user. I’m still getting the following error from the script:

“This installer must be run with root privileges. Exiting.”

Can anyone confirm the correct bash, sh commands etc so I can get my installation up and running please?

Installing Roon Server on Fedora Linux _not_ as root

I just installed Roon Server on my laptop running Fedora 37 Workstation as a separate roon user instead of the security insanity of the default Linux which installs and runs as the root user. @Martin_Webster Thanks Martin. I’ve ascertained that it downloaded and I’m now trying to get it to start with:

sudo systemctl start RoonBridge

The response is:

Failed to start RoonBridge.service: Unit RoonBridge.service not found.

I shall try those links now. Cheers, Paul
