It is probably best to let roon do the upsamling?
The Eversolo arrived today and my first impressions are very positive.
It’s a really attractive piece of kit amd the screen is tremendous .
The app is good too although I will continue to use Roon I think
What has surprised me is the difference in sound when using tidal connect as opposed to Roon. I mean it’s quite evident to me
I will need some more time with it.
I have been using mine for about 4 months, burn in took some time. Most likely from the cables but it really does sound great compared to when I first received it.
You will be getting the full Hires tier via Connect not bound by Roon which is stuck on the old tiers still.
Is that what it is ? Well I had no idea that this would be the case .
After my frustrations with roon lately this could be a game changer for me
Oh and what a bonus
I will bide my time though
what are you noticing
It’s maybe a bit early to draw any conclusions but tidal connect just seems to add a bit more clarity and therefore maybe detail. Through Roon though it does appear to be a bit more full .
Not sure which one I prefer yet , but didn’t expect to hear a difference .
Will keep listening but won’t deep it
Hi. I’m a new owner of Eversolo DMP-A6. I use it for streaming only with an outboard DAC. The literature states that the streamer is Roon Ready. There is an icon for Roon, but when it is actuated it takes me to a photo of some pages with writing that is way too small for me to read.
Is the Eversolo DMP-A6 Roon Ready or not? If yes, is there an online update?
I know this is an old post, so thanks for reading.
I don’t have this device but does it show up under the Roon Ready group in Roon’s audio settings? Just like my Cambridge CXNV2 and Bluesound Node X do? If so then it is Roon Ready.
Your replying to months old post when it was first launched. It’s been Roon Ready for ages. Update to lates firmware, go to settings audio in Roon and enable it as a zone.
I have just got one and can confirm it is definitely Roon ready.
It’s not tax free, the US recipient is expected to declare this import and pay taxes on it when they file their annual tax returns, anyone skipping this step is guilty of tax evasion.
What is displayed on the Eversolo screen when acting as a Roon Endpoint? Would it look exactly like any Roon display (which is minimal info) or does it display more info than that?
LMAO Ok got ya
Picked up a demo model of this thing a week ago, so far so good, wanted a dedicated player for my desktop setup with a screen etc. XLR outputs measure really well according to ASR and subjectively I like the way the dac sounds.
I’ve got it feeding a Schiit Magnius via XLR and a set of KEF LSX II’s via SPDIF. I keep volume at 0dB (same as volume pass through mode) when outputting to the Schiit with no eq and just use the pot on the Schiit to control the volume, so that’s bit perfect. The KEFs could be fed bit perfect too, but I like being able to use the DMPA6’s volume knob to control them so I break the bit perfect chain with digital volume control. I lose the ability to see the Roon Ready KEFs eq and volume settings in Roon by going through the DMPA6 first, but they’re mostly set and forget so that’s not a huge deal.
Overall it’s a great device with near state of the art performance that makes listening more enjoyable. Having the screen and controls along with vu and spectrum visuals are really nice.
Thinking about getting an Eversolo-A6…
Is there a difference on sound quality as a streamer, when using wi-fi vs. ethernet?
How good is the wi-fi sound quality, because that’s what I need to use.
Thanks all!
As far as I can tell. Sound quality doesn’t change whether you are using Ethernet or WiFi. I don’t have an Eversolo but I do have a Bluesound and a Cambridge.
The only difference would be getting a solid network connection as WiFi can be very spotty in combination with Roon. Go Ethernet when you can.
