Eversolo DMP-A8 only detected as Airplay on ROCK NUC13 (ref#4V9IOO)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

Tell us what's going on

· I had roon running on a synology DS918+ NAS and roon was detecting properly my Eversolo DMP-A8 streamer. I now moved roon to ROCK running on an Asus NUC13 and the eversolo is only seen as an airplay device, not via RAAT. Same network configuration as before, NAS, NUC, and Eversolo all connected to the same unmanaged gigabit switch.

· All device connected to the same Netgear GS108 unmanaged gigabit switch, behind an orange domestic fiber router.

Screenshot of Audio Devices would help.

Probably in Audio Devices the Eversolo would need to be enabled. Airplay enabled is it’s own device protocol.

The roon ready icon actually appears for a few seconds when I power on the eversolo, but then it disappears.

Is your network set to Static or DHCP for the Eversolo? I assume that you power cycled the Eversolo after new setup?

Yes: I power cycled everything.
Eversolo was connected with fixed IP. I changed it back to DHCP (since the IP address is anyway fixed by the router assignment) and it is found again!

This is strange: DHCP getting the same IP address vs. fixed IP with same parameters… both should be working…
Anyway, I have a solution now so I won’t worry too much.
