6 months after the release, and just saw that the Eversolo DMP-A8 is still not Roon ready for April. How long does it take to get this certified? I think this is taking a long time and it is far too quiet on the Eversolo and Roon side!
I’m going to start this response by saying I have no information whatsoever on the Eversolo DMP-A8 Roon certification. However, I wonder if Eversolo is the problem. Is it possible that Eversolo needs to make some SW changes and is slow to get them done which can enable the Roon certification?
Denafrips’ two streamers (arce and arcam) are still awaiting roon certification, too.
No idea what causes the delays, but you’d think they’d be able to figure it out pretty quickly since the A6 has been Roon ready for a while.
You’d think. I’m sure more than a few of us here have been involved with integration projects in our careers. It takes two to tango.
I doubt the delay is the manufacturer, had the same with my Bryston BR-20. Bryston made changes Roon wanted immediately and still took months. More then a year by the time all done.
Roon doesn’t like people involved to talk about it so could be why Eversolo remains silent. Which to me is ■■, makes the manufacturer look at fault. Should simply be a process posted. Device XYZ submitted for Roon Ready day month year zyx. With posts as hurdles crossed.
Way many developers work within their environments so bosses can track progress without bugging them all the time.
Frustrating while my DMP A8 can scan all 71k songs it can’t search in them all accurately.
Browsing becomes tedious quickly. Now I only gave it two days after indexed wondering if I should have waited longer. My work around was to use Roon to export playlists to external drive formatted exFAT. Then adding only popular songs and hits using A8 feature to play all songs but again a long process. Miss Roon Radio quickly…do enjoy the sound vs the BR-20 streamer. I like A8 connected USB to BR-20 VS A8 on Balanced output to BR-20 input better. As a streamer the features are top notch. You flip a quarter which is the better sounding streamer Bryston or Eversolo for me the A8 has the features and coolness I want.
I am using Roon Rock so adding files across network was very easy. My work around for number of files was simple. I have different file type in separate folders. Flac, Flac2, DSD, DSD2, Paid, Wav. Adding individual folders it can deal with number of tunes fine. Bit of clicking to get from one folder to another but works until Roon Ready
THANKS! it worked perfectly. much appreciated!
Roon developers, Please please please wrap up the Eversolo DMP-A8 Roon Ready certification already! This is the most capable streamer out right now and we NEED Roon Ready support! It’s been far too long. You would think with the success of the DMP-A6 that you would jump on this opportunity. This is a gold mine both for Roon and for Eversolo. I’ve been patiently waiting to make the purchase as I need it to work with Roon all the way including album art on the beautiful display. Please, make this audiophile’s dream come true and make my livingroom a whole hell of a lot more fun. Do it for the fans. Please. Please?
Who’s with me?

It’s not just Roon involved with the certification process. If there are any issues found, they have to be resolved by the manufacturer so we don’t (and never will) know who to blame for any delay to certification.
It is not a given that the DMP- A8 will go through certifiaction cleanly just because the DMP-A6 has already completed the certification process.
And this is assuming that the certification has been requested.
Additional information is that Roon official policy is not to comment on any Roon certification that may or may not be ongoing.
When a unit becomes certified it should appear on the Roon Partners official page.
It does take two to tango, the A6 is already certified, there is very little difference in interfaces. Smart engineering.
Try the settings posted above works for me.
If you want cool graphics have Roon output them to your TV. Believe that would require android tv though
Is there any foundation for this statement or is this just speculation? I’m not aware of any such policy.
I know Roon do not comment period, it’s always for their partners to make any announcements about their equipment.
Prove that I am wrong. show me a manufacturer posting progress of their certification.
Seems draconian to me or am I not allowed to have an opinion?
Slow down new releases focus on hardening product and the backlog in certification.
I am amazed with what Eversolo has done. For the amount they charge for it. Love how someone finally snuck apple music on a HiFi component.
Many Roon people said it could not be done. Hence me thinking they are not problem.
Not sure if you have used the product.
Control interfaces are same except where input and outputs differ. As well as settings only for the extra I/O’s. Have tried both a A6 and A8 at same time
You can have an opinion, but you can’t state it as fact without proof.
Fair point, and that’s been happening over that last few months … Roon have stated this is there current focus.
Partner certification is a completely different team.
They are not developers, so product development is not really relevant here as a limiting factor to certification. It’s not an either or situation.
You may not be aware but in the past couple months Roon has certified more devices, month on month, than at any point in their history.
The certification process is exhaustive and it takes a considerable effort from the manufacturer and Roon to complete. Roon / Harman know they need to embrace growth in this area and are expanding their testing capabilities (dedicated facilities and staff). They are publicly advising for staff right now.
I think overall the future is bright, I know this is little consolation for those waiting for a specific device… but imho Roon are heading in the right direction.

Please refrain from just adding “noise” to this thread.
You know full well Roon do not comment on Certification of product.
This has been stated by two separate moderators in the past few hours.
It will be certified when it is certified.
Neither you, Carl, myself or anyone else on this forum can or will change that FACT.
Hi @Jerry_B, our moderators will not prove you wrong. They’ll ask, as will I, that you please stop posting hearsay and patently false statements & personal opinions as facts. If you continue to ignore them you’ll forfeit your privilege to post here.
got message from eversolo that they are pushing hard for roon certification. You will receive notice of a firmware update to the dmp a8 when roon is ready to go. be patient
Thanks for sharing the good news, Neil.
Thanks for the positive update. It’s good to hear Eversolo is working hard to push certification.
Fyi, enable squeezebox in roon. Dmp A-8 will accept signal. 10X better than airplay.
Choose dmp-a8 squeezebox as audio zone.
Works perfectly as long as your dmp-a8 is wired to your network.
