Eversolo T-10 not recognized by Roon on iPad (ref#JB25B7)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

Tell us what's going on

· I recently purchased a Eversolo T-10 server transport on July 18th , I signed up for a subscription to Roon downloaded the Roon APP on my iPad then followed the set up instructions for the T-10 there was no link to Roon on the T-10 , firmware is up dated though I found out the T-10 was just certified by Roon on July 20th and now I see a link to Roon on the T-10.

I am having an issue with the T-10 not being recognized by Roon , settings in the T-10 for IP address are correct on my iPad and T-10 . I rebooted both my iPad and t-10 then trying to open the link to Roon search for the T-10 on my iPad is in constant search

Tell us about your home network

· I have a Bell router modem fed by fibre optic to my home , from my router modem to my audio room I use a LAN cable which plugs into a Matrix Audio net work isolator then into the LAN connection of the T-10 .
I have gone over re-checking ip addresses on iPad and t-10 , I have shut off my VPN , Lan connection on the T-10 is selected however to no avail .The Roon app on my iPad shows constant search .Thank you for your assistance Stephen

What are you using as your Roon Server? Can you use the T10 without the need for a Roon Server?

I am new to streaming music especially using components like the T,-10 . Do you mean there is something missing in my system to get Roon you mentioned a server , like a Roon Core ? To enable the T-10 to link to Roon ?

Hey @Stephen_Sime, welcome to the community,

The missing piece here is that Roon needs a Roon Server on your network. The iPad app is a Roon Remote, so it can control Roon Server, but it cannot act as the server itself.

For the T-10 to show up in Roon, we need to confirm two things: first, what device is running Roon Server in your home, and second, whether the T-10 is actually appearing as a Roon Ready zone inside Roon after you add the server. If you do not have a Roon Server yet, that would explain the constant search on the iPad.

Before we go further, can you tell us what you have available to run Roon Server, such as a Mac, Windows PC, NAS, Nucleus, or ROCK? Also, once you have a server in place, does the T-10 show up in the Audio settings inside Roon?

Reply with that and we can take the next step from there. :folded_hands:

Hi @Stephen_Sime

I recommend having a read of the Roon guide, it explains Roon architecture and what options there are to get started.

Pardon my ignorance, this is my first streamer transport I am completely new to this sort of audio play back . The components in my new system consist of the Eversolo T-10 , dac ,IPad , speakers and amplifier of course . Are you saying I’m missing a component to get up and running a Roon server ?

Yes, you are missing a component to run Roon Server. See:

Yes that is my question now can I use the Eversolo T,-10 only to use Roon , however apparently not .

No, if it helps, in my system I have an iMac functioning as my Roon Server and then a number of endpoints (Raspberry Pi’s running Ropiee) that connect to DAC’S in my different rooms that then feed amplifiers/speakers.

The iMac is essentially the control point with the Pi’s acting as satellites to which music is transmitted in my local network. The iMac has a hard drive containing my music, which is combined with music from my streaming service (Qobuz) to give me a unified library.

Once you are through the initial set up hurdles Roon can be a very powerful and fun music collation and distribution system, well worth the learning curve and expense.

Ask as many questions as you need.

Yes I did read that however I skimmed over when I became interested in Roon last week however it didn’t sink in , I get it now .

I am aware now what is needed to proceed getting Roon , the help is wonderful, thank you all .
