The file format is 192 kbps MP3 with 44 kHz, but shown as 24 bit PCM.
The way Roon works is that the music file is read by the Roonserver and processed into PCM and then sent to the DAC or endpoints. So, your display is correct.
The signal path in your Roon app will show you exactly what’s happening and when.
As for the 24-bit, here’s an explainer from the horse’s mouth:
Thank you for the clarification. Usually I hear FLAC files, and only a few old MP3s.
Again, Roon wil process the flac into pcm.
