Experimenting with Windows 11 (Roon Not displaying Exclusive mode for DAC)

Hi,

I usually use Roon Rock as my Roon core, but I’m experiencing a few issues with popping between track skips, on pause, etc. So I’m trialling my Win11 PC hosting Roon software/endpoint.

My Windows PC is an i7, HP Eilte desk, with 16gb ram.

Connection to my DAC is USB from this PC to my Motu MK5 Ultralite.

Can someone please help explain why Roon is not displaying exclusive mode for my DAC?

Windows:
I have actually removed the device from the possible playback list, as I need to protect my speakers from source audio not passing through convolution crossovers. It made no difference if I allowed channel 1/2 and enabled exclusive mode.

Roon:
No exclusive setting?

Are you sure it should have one? I am not a Windows & external DAC user, but the KB says that not every output has the option. Windows WASAPI has it, Windows ASIO does not, because ASIO is always exclusive. And your screenshot says “MOTU ASIO”, so I suppose it’s using ASIO.

Asio is exclusive, it’s only on WASAPI it will show up.

As above, put ASIO drivers on and use them. That is exclusive by default.
