Describe the issue

Hi everyone, formatting the new internal SSD (Samsung SSD 870EVO, 1TB) of my Roon server fails with the error message: “Internal disk could not be formatted. Please try again or contact support. {“status”: “Failure”, “exitcode”:6}" I have tried many times, but without success. Unfortunately I do not have the possibility to install the SSD in another device to test it. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve the problem? Or does it make sense to replace the internal SSD by another one? Thank you very much, best regards, Wolfgang

@urobauer, I have edited your post to correct the error code (6 not 7) as shown in the screenshot.

Please note:

Was this a new drive or had it been used in another computer at some point?

Thanks for your quick reply.
It was a new drive.
Later i will have a look at the codecs.

Ignore this, only the first part of the queued post was relevant to your issue. The codec thing was an unrelated side note in the old case.

Double check your cabling to make sure it is tight at both ends.

I find it handy to have an external usb drive enclosure to do testing or make a nice external usb drive… Cheap handy things to have about 12 usd on amazon.
