Failed to boot, flash drive doesnt work

Intel nuc i7-1165G7, 16gb ram, roon os

Hi all, @support,

My nuc stopped working a while ago. It’s stuck on: “Welcome to grub! Failed to boot when flipping back to A. Roon OS and the previous version installed both refuse to boot, etc”.

I’v download a .cap file from intel. Copied that to a FAT32 formatted usb. Restarted with F7. But to no avail unfortunately.

Any tips? Thanks so much =]

Hi @Sjoerd_Bootsma,

It sounds like the BIOS update isn’t going through. If you haven’t already, I recommend taking a look at this guide: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/rock-install-guide#2BConfiguring_the_BIOS

Technically Roon’s technical support team itself doesn’t cover Intel issues, but we will up visibility on this thread for the Community to weigh in on.

Thanks for your reply Connor. I’ve tried finding the .bio file through the link you’ve provided. But alas, it seems I’m too noob to find it.

My nuc is an “i7-1165G7“, I haven’t found a .bio file that I can mount in this list: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/208662/intel-core-i71165g7-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz/downloads.html

Am I missing something?

Thanks again. =]
