Favorite albums of 2019?

Wow, that’s quite a number
I bought also over 100 albums, I only listed the ones that actually were released during this year (excluding ‘re-releases’)
Dirk

That’s a formidable list, thanks for sharing.

You may like the The Paper Kites also.

Bruce Cockburn - Crowing Ignites
Jimmy “Duck” Holmes - Cypress Grove
Stuart McCallum - Solitude II
Leonard Cohen - Thanks for the Dance
Beck - Hyperspace
Friend N Fellow - Characters
Forest Light / Marta Arpini - Forest Light
Fionn Regan - Cala
RF Shannon - Rain On Dust
Madonna - Madame X
J.J. Cale - Stay Around
enz enz…

Mine are also released during 2019, not sure how many are re-releases. It’s a bit extreme, but that is Roon’s fault

Back home, spend some time figuring out my best of 2019. Not easy

I wanted to participate in this thread and then I found out that 2019 was an excruciatingly bad year (for my tastes).
There is not a single album I can wholeheartedly recommend.
At least there are 3 honorable mentions:

Sophie Zelmani - Sunrise
Anna Ternheim - A space for lost time
Various - Come on up to the House (Women sing Waits)

Edit: thanks for mentioning „Lucette“ , new to me and up my alley

A few folks have posted this one. Decided to listen to it yesterday. Loved it! It’s now in my library.

Thanks!

I really think “Tool - Fear Inoculum” belongs at #2 rather than at #3. The same can be said for #4, #7 and #8.

Funny you should mention that. I thought a lot about whether to put it at #2 or #3. In the end I’m comfortable with the final list

I can’t argue with that! I’m glad that you’re satisfied

You know you’re officially old when you can’t spot the name of the band from the name of the album!
