Frequent Disappearance of Queue in ARC After App Reopen (ref#R7J5DH)

My Queue is disappearing after I close and reopen the app. Not every time, but it's frequently now. I used to be able to add downloaded albums to my Queue for months at a time before something eventually blew up but now the Queue just disappears almost every time I close and reopen ARC.

Describe your network setup

I have Starlink at home so ARC doesn't stream for me. I download albums in ARC when I'm at home and add them to my Queue to play in my car.

We see that you’re using ARC on an Android device. Many modern Android phones include aggressive battery optimization features that may affect ARC’s performance—particularly with background activity and connectivity.

Please follow the steps below to disable all relevant battery optimization settings for the ARC app on your Android device:


Disable Battery Optimization for ARC (Android)

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Scroll down and tap Apps & notifications (or just Apps, depending on your device).
  3. Tap See all apps, then locate and select ARC from the list.
  4. Tap Battery, then Battery Optimization.
  5. At the top, tap Not optimized, then select All apps.
  6. Scroll down to Roon ARC, tap it, and choose Don’t optimize.

Additional Settings to Check

  1. Background Data
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Roon ARC > Data usage.
  • Ensure Background data is enabled.
  1. Unrestricted Data Usage
  • Still under Data usage, enable Unrestricted data usage if available.
  1. Adaptive Battery
  • Go to Settings > Battery > Adaptive Battery, and either disable it or exclude ARC from restrictions if such an option is available.

Once all optimizations are disabled, please reproduce the issue and let us know the approximate timestamp. We’ll enable diagnostics on your account and review the logs to pinpoint the root cause.

I followed the given steps for battery and background settings (or as near as I could figure on my version of Android). No issues so far.
