Description of Issue

Frequent connections dropout. Pretty much random.
Lately it has become very frequent. Sometimes, many times per piece.
The output (the RME ADI-2) disconnects from the Roon server : it disappears from the audio output list of the Roon server. And then, it reconnects one or 2 seconds after and reappears on the list.

Might seem an obvious suggestion, but have you tried a different network cable and a different USB cable?

Well, sometimes things are too obvious to be seen…
I shall try.
Thank you.

you could also check that the firmware is up to date - honestly that’s probably not your problem.

on the RME website: ADI-2-DAC FS - RME Audio Interfaces | Format Converters | Preamps | Network Audio & MADI Solutions then click on the “drivers” tab - yes I know that firmware updates are not drivers, but my German is not good enough to evaluate whether it makes sense in German.

It is up to date.

Roon server has been updated and it seems that the problem has gone away.
