After setting up the speakers yesterday and installing Google Home. The speakers both got updated to their latest firmware versions.
This morning I’ve done some experimenting. I’ve noticed in Google Home, that after unpairing the speakers as a stereo set, that one of the speakers didn’t show up anymore. So I’ve set it up again. At the moment Roon has been happily playing for a few hours now.
Haven’t tried my iPhone again so far.
When it comes to apps. Audirvana Studio sees each speaker separately as an AirPlay device, but doesn’t see the Home Stereo room I’ve set up. Only Roon does. And Roon is also the only one who sees it. As both my iPhone and MacBooks don’t see the Home Stereo room group I’ve made, but do see the speakers as separate AirPlay devices.
This is what the Roon Core sees as the output that I’m using. Using Screen Sharing to remotely login to my MacBook Air from my M1 MacBook Pro.
