HDMI cable for multichannel audio

Hi All, I play a lot of multichannel music through my Roon core PC direct to AVR, I have recently purchased and installed an IFi hdmi Isilelencer and I’m convinced it has improved the sound. I am only using a basic hdmi cable, would a better cable or one of those super high end ones make an audible improvement.

HDMI is a digital protocol, so any working cable will pass the exact same signal and will sound the same.

(Silencers also won’t make any difference, but since you’re convinced of the opposite, you’ll probably convince yourself a more expensive cable will also sound better, so I’ll lose this argument pretty fast.)

HDMI cables from BJC are just fine (Blue Jeans Cable Series-4 UHD HDMI Cable).
1 meter 11.50$ and 2 meter 17.00$

Do you use BJC Series-4 HDMI cable? Doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as popular as the Series-FE cable? Why might that be? I suspect it’s simply because users are reluctant to order it fearing that’s it’s so thick and stiff that it will strain HDMI connectors. Indeed, I emailed BJC two weeks ago to ask about diameter differences between the Series 4 and FE cables but no answer. . If not BJC what other HDMI cable for my Oppo 203 BD player? Please advise.

I second Torben. BJCables FE is a great cable, for excellent AVR.

I never thought about the cable brand. I usually use the cables that come with the devices, always with video, and I’ve collected enough… All of them are thick, but I haven’t had problems with that. Just make sure there is enough space in front of the ports.

I looked at BJC cables and they are not expensive, so they seem a good choice.

When I emailed BJC sales about 6 ft cables for my two Oppo 203 players the Series-4 was what they suggested. Any issues with them?

No, never. Great product and service.

Thanks all.
