Was HDMI support for ROCK on NUC 12 and NUC 13 a part of 2.0 (build 1432) production update:

There is no update here:

@Torben_Rick No, I think you need the early access RoonOS build, which I’ve been running it since launch with zero issues. Hopefully it’ll soon go production.

@Torben_Rick - the help articles are an ongoing work that need constant attention. Progress is slow and there’s a queue. It’s Roon Labs’ equivalent of “painting the Forth Road Bridge

What’s super confusing at least to me is the following update is announced on the Roon web site as of 4 days ago: “Roon 2.0.37 and ARC 1.0.54 are live!” However, the description only refers to Airplay2 and there is no mention of the HDMI update. Further, my installation of Roon on a NUC 11 still shows Roon 2.0 (build 1432) and it says this is the latest version installed.

The HDMI update is in RoonOs - the minimal linux used by Nucleus devices and installed on NUCs by ROCK. The current production version of RoonOs is 259.

The “Roon 2.0.37 and ARC 1.0.54 are live!” announcement and the 1432 build number relate to the Roon Server application that runs on top of the RoonOs (in this case) or more generally the operating system of choice.

The Airplay2 announcement pertains to the Roon Server Application - for which the current release is indeed 1432.

I believe that you can run the early access version of RoonOs (by following the instructions in the RoonOS Early access announcement) whilst still running the production versions of the Roon Applications which is in contrast to the recommendations when running the early access applications where the advice is ‘all production or all early access’.

Super thanks for clarifying this Wade. In general, i’m a huge fan of Roon but in this case i think the communication from the team could be clearer about what update they are talking about and i think the app doesn’t help because you have to go to a submenu to see the version of RoonOS. Until now, I assumed the main screen in the “about” menu was referring to RoonOS but now i know you have to go into a submenu to see the status of that. The 2 screenshots i attached illustrate the point.

And Roon is adding “his also implements HDMI support for ROCK users on NUC 12 and NUC 13”, even NUC13 is not on the list :frowning:

@number6mi - You can more easily see the build of RoonOS by using the Web Administration Interface…

NUC13 is on the list:
