Hegel Roon Ready status statement

You are probably right.
I am just trying to keep this thread alive just to make it clear for hegel that we do not forget.

I have moved on, but still own two hegel products.

They don’t hear us nor do they care. I honestly think our next step might need to be a class action lawsuit. Should probably discuss and organize offline.

Maybe it is time for a lawsuit. An American company wouldn’t get away with this.

Blimey, this threads taken a tasty turn since I last checked in.

Well, it’s time the people at Hegel learn that they can’t just say sorry for more than two years and then turn their back again.

Absolutely. I think we need to consider rallying the troops here. The North American distributor may likely be held liable at the very least.

I live in the The Netherlands. The distributer here is located in Germany. That makes it a complicated matter.

Just sell your Hegel while you still can. Class action lawsuit is something that is literally now being implemented in EU and still not part of the legislation across Europe. Moreover it will be consumer organisations that will be able to file one, not individuals. If you so much like the Hegel ā€œsoundā€ just get one of their power amps with no digital connectivity which is what most of you are doing with your integrated ones anyway

There are other fish in the sea… no need to buy hegel.

I know, but I mean that the Hegel house distortion sound seems to be something people like, which is a valid preference. In that case getting their power amps is a better choice than an integrated as people seem to be bypassing the digital connectivity by adding streamers and DACs. I personally moved on, can’t stand a company that shows a thorough lack of transparency and treats customers as fools.

But i will not buy any product from hegel again, there are for sure other alternatives.

I own a Hegel H390 and was thinking about exchanging it by the H20 since I own a Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE with the additional preamp module. I talked to my local Hifi dealer about that and he said (even though he loves Hegel) that the sweet spot of the Hegel products are their integrated. If I were looking for a simple power amp, he said, there are better products on the market for that money…
I love the sound as it is, but if I ever buy a new power amp, I would not put my money on any Hegel product again! Not after all that Roon trouble…

Couldn’t agree more.

In my e-mail conversations with Hegel, they advised that the sound quality of the H20/P20 combo is ā€œslightly aboveā€ a H390. And that combo requires a significantly higher initial investment without considering the additional cost of a DAC, streamer, cables.

Hegel considers the the H20/P20 combo ā€œsomewhatā€ below the H590.

Moving up to the fantastic P30 requires a hefty additional cost.

I’m not familiar with the prices but am I right in thinking that Hegel’s advice is always, ā€˜higher cost=higher quality’?

99.9999999999% as of today

Tomorrow tomorrow …. Always a day away …

Less than 60 days from 2022 - and the progress seems to be just to add the 9’s above.

I wonder why no more updates from Hegel - after the ā€œalmost thereā€ for Roon Ready ??

That is what we all wonder about.
This is a big neglect and disrespect for us hegel owners and Roon users.
It is a good example of ā€œhow not to treat your customersā€.

That hegel made a claim they could not fulfill, is not an issue.
Ignoring their customers, knowing they would really like an explanation, is.

This attitude should ring alarm bells for those thinking of buying a hegel.
I am happy with my two hegels as they are brilliant amplifiers, but would never buy from hegel again.

That is why I sold my H590 recently: inacceptable customer treatment for a 10k EUR device!!

I still haven’t bought an amp. I do really like the look of the Hegel integrated amps. I’m not sure how important Roon Ready is to me any longer. My current amp isn’t Roon Ready and the only feature I’m missing is volume control of the amp from Roon.
