I run a roon server on 3.2 GHz 8 core I7 Mac Mini . After updating the roon software a few days ago Roon is using 200% of the CPU and causing the fan to run. I have less than 10 songs in my personal library and run tidal and Qubuzz. If I go to the activity monitor and quit the roon appliance and restart the app the CPU usage goes back down. 3 - 5 percent. After running the app for 20 minutes or so whether idle or playing music the CpU usage creeps back up to over 100% and the fan begins to run again.
