Hello, similar to these closed topics (1 closed in March and 1 closed end May, both unsolved)
I encounter the same; where all endpoints are in sync (Bluesound Node, BoseWave, Pool speaker etc) all my HomePod minis through the house (I have 5, which all have the same issue both in stereo as in single mode - all added to Homekit) start a small second later than all other speakers creating a lag or delay which is unlistenable.
Meaning that, when I need multiroom, I move away from Roon and use AppleMusic or Qobuz where I have perfect sync over AirPlay with all my speakers but unfortunately cannot the playlists I have from my music I actually own
So very curious on what the support team has found after earlier reports by users
Not sure if you have tried this, but I used the “zone grouping delay (ms)” in advanced area of the “device setup” to adjust two of my zones that were out of sync. As you can see below, I ended up about -150 ms (that’s minus 150 milliseconds) delay for the one zone that was lagging behind.
Thanks for the good suggestion; this indeed works with fully RAAT but as the HomePod Minis rely on AirPlay 2 for multiroom that option does not show on any device as both streaming protocols can’t be combined - to my knowledge
I checked our internal tracker today and saw that your ticket is still in the development queue. This means our developers are planning to address the issue, but we don’t have a specific timeframe yet.
You can follow the progress in the thread you shared. Once the ticket is scheduled and work begins, I’ll be able to provide a clearer update on timing.
For now, I’m marking this thread as solved and adding a note to the internal ticket to help prioritize it.
