Horizontal scrolling [not on roadmap]

My own preference is for 2. horizontal paging as I find it easier to flick through my library like a book

Agree completely and have made a similar observation.

I suspect that paging horizontally occurred because it was the path of least resistance (coding wise) and that not paging vertically is the same expedient philosophy.

Otherwise, why would horizontal be paged, but vertical be scrolled?

A display issue

Yes, I understand that. You could make that same comment about the screens that still scroll horizontally, but the screens that scroll horizontally don’t do so in an ‘analogue’ fashion. The scroll (and the display) is measured so that complete albums are shown at any one time. The Overview page, the first thing a prospective buyer will see, looks amateurish.
