How do I 'Focus' on Various Artists?

A few other posts have led me to believe there should be a ‘Various Artists’ Performers option under Focus. But I don’t see one. The album’s all have ‘Various Artists’ as the album artist tag.

Am I missing something?

How to find Various Artists discs

Filter (funnel symbol) for Various Artists in Album browser, save it as bookmark if you need it often.

I don’t think you can, but you can use Focus for other criteria (if you need any) and then use the filter for Various Artists

Thanks guys. I have been using a filter but thought I was missing a specific Focus option based on other posts I’d read earlier.

But I can’t negate a filter, so it looks like I can’t create a ‘NOT Various Artists’ bookmark?

I believe you can as you can select it and it will show with a + sign, then press it again and it will change to a -sign.
I hardly ever use focus but I think this should work for you.

You have to create and use a Tag if you need/want that. See also:

You already found the option (see your picture). As the option affects VA album sorting only, my best advice for you is to create a bookmark for the “Various Artists” filter or even tag them as “Sampler” for example – if you load the tag, you can choose to see your Samplers only or your other albums only. Filter: [grafik] Tag: [grafik] [grafik]

First filter by “Various Artist” then add the results to a tag. Then clear the filter.
Activate the tag and then negate it.

Having to tag with a ‘Various Artists’ tag has the downside that I need to manually tag new albums.

It’s strange that Roon chose to exclude ‘Various Artists’ under Focus - Performers.
