Hello,
is there any way to disable MQA streaming while using Roon server + Auralic Aries streamer?
Thank you
What happens if you set your DAC for No MQA support and turn off MQA core decoder in your Device setup?
cant set anything on DAC unfortunately,… its old model.
Auralic settings are
and even i have MQA in signal path.
That’s it. You already have these set properly. You can’t stop Tidal from sending MQA where they don’t yet have flac file replacements. They won’t play as MQA with your settings.
So why MQA is still as a source + there is some auth.?
The signal path i shared is not for all albums… some of them… thats why i am wondering.
Thanks
Because Tidal still sends a lot of MQA albums if they don’t have flac. I have over 500 MQA in my Roon library.
ah got it, but if i disable mqa and it sends mqa… how is it possible it works?
Hey @heap,
Thanks for writing in!
MQA files can still be played even if MQA decoding or rendering is disabled because they are stored in a standard FLAC container. When MQA decoding is not active, the file behaves like a regular FLAC file, delivering CD-quality audio. However, if your playback device or software supports MQA decoding, it can process the embedded MQA information to unlock enhanced audio quality, such as higher resolution or “Master Quality” playback. Without MQA support, the playback defaults to the base FLAC quality.
Happy listening!
