Goodday, I went over from ropieee to GentooPlayer, problem now is that my HQ player can’t find my raspberry in device, In GentooPlayer I only see HQ player embedded, did I purchase the wrong HQ Player or did I mis something
My gear Roon R.O.C.K > Laptop with roon controling my library > raspberry with GentooPlayer > Dac
That is possibly HQPlayer Embedded. I’m not sure since I’ve never used GentooPlayer.
First confirm that HQPlayer alone is working fine and preferably that you can play through it standalone. When adding HQPlayer to Roon, please check that you are using correct IP address, and that it is not some dynamic IP subject to change from DHCP (since unfortunately Roon has not implemented HQPlayer autodiscovery).
If HQPlayer is not configured to access your DAC or cannot access it for whatever reason, Roon won’t be able to do anything with HQPlayer output either.
Thanks Jussi, I have had HQ player playing in Roon, that was when I use Ropieee, but now I switch to GentooPlayer for trying the diretta protocol, HQ player is on the same machine, I didn’t thouch it so it has the same IP address as before, I use static addresses
Hi Martin, have you been able to get HQPlayer running in your Roon rpi Gentoo setup already? I currently run into the same issue on changing from Ropieee to GP. Like to hear from you
