Calling @jussi_laako ?
Yeah maybe. But this issue started right after upgrading to the latest Roon server (2.54).
Is it input or output buffer running out? You can see the buffer levels from HQPlayer Client.
Hi Jussi, I believe this is the input buffer as I see this error in HQP:
clStreamReaderHTTP::WaitRead(): timeout!
I’ve been running Roon → HQP for quite sometime and this only started to happen after a recent Roon update. However I’m can’t be 100% sure that it’s a Roon issue as it’s always possible there can be other factors.
My setup is that the Roon Server and the HQP desktop are both running on the same windows box. How do I see the buffer level from HQP client? Is that the green bar that moves? There are two bars on the top, the first one completely gray and no activity, and the second one is green and moves.
I try to paste log here but being blocked because of the size. Please let me know what else might be useful. Thanks!
Yes, that means that HQPlayer has exhausted it’s timeout waiting for Roon to send more audio data.
Yes, the upper bar is source buffer, and lower bar is output buffer.
The first one should be grey only when playing local files natively with HQPlayer. But in other cases like Roon as source, or native streaming sources such as Qobuz, it should be active as well.
Please do not post logs as message text on the forum, it makes the forum pretty unreadable. You can use attachments where available, but it is preferable such to be sent directly to me as email attachments.
Hmm, I’m using Roon as a source, the top bar has always been gray.
Ahh yes, it is “endless” stream, and not an input…
@jussi_laako what’s your email address? I’ll send my logs. Thanks!
