HQPlayer Desktip 6 - Skip to next song via remote, drops playing

Hello. Whenever I use HQPlayer NAA to my Eversolo T8 (also applies to RaspberryPI), when trying to skip to the next song, music stops all together instead of moving to the next song. This only happens when using a remote control only. When using Roon app, this issue doesn’t exist. This issue is isolated to when using HQPlayer. Any thoughts as to why? Using HQplayer Desktop 6 version.

What is the remote control and content source in this case?

Hello Jussi.

Setup is as follows

Linux Fedora > Roon > HQPlayer 6 > NAA Outbound > Eversolo T8 (it’s own remote control).

Roon is setup to play music playlist songs primarily from Qobuz.

Hope above covers your question. Thank you!

Even though you can control HQPlayer from Eversolo, it won’t work when using Roon as a source. It only works when using native HQPlayer playback from HQPlayer’s library (HQPlayer Client, HQPDcontrol, etc). And also in some cases for example when using JPlay as HQPlayer control app.

This is due to the way Roon has implemented HQPlayer integration.

I understand. I now see how much better it runs by removing Roon from the chain. Loads songs a lot quicker and overall experience is much better. I hope Roon puts more attention to better integrate HQPlayer but I have my doubts as this feature has been implemented for years.
