HQPlayer Desktop Presets / Remote Preset Switching

I use HQPlayer Desktop 6 with Roon and an NAA endpoint. I have several DSP configurations optimized for different music:

  • Jazz / Soul

  • Classical

  • Native DSD

At the moment, switching between them requires opening HQPlayer Desktop and importing a different configuration.

It would be very useful to have user presets that can be recalled directly, ideally:

  • from the HQPlayer UI,

  • via a keyboard shortcut,

  • via a remote API,

  • or even through the Roon integration.

This would make HQPlayer much more convenient for listening sessions without changing any DSP parameters manually.

This already exists in both HQPlayer Desktop and HQPlayer Embedded. And you can switch the configurations from HQPlayer Client (and few other control apps).

In HQPlayer Desktop’s File-menu you have “Create profile…” and “Delete profile…”. And the created configurations are then listed in HQPlayer Client and you can switch from there.

Thanks a lot, Jussi. It looks like I’ll have to pick up the pace of my learning to keep up with developments.

Looks like I am still doing something wrong to use HQPlayer Client.

I am using an Mic Mini M4 Pro as Roon server and HQPlayer, both installed and running on the Mac Mini.
Now I am trying to use the Client on my Mac Book pro where I am also controling Roon and selecting my Music for the stream.

When I open on the Macbook the client and enter the IP of my Mac Mini in the top left corner and press Enter, nothing happens, the client is not connecting.
What I am doing wrong?

“Allow control from network” button is pressed down in HQPlayer Desktop server’s toolbar (the rightmost button)?

Client’s auto-discovery should find the server, so it should appear on the drop list. If it doesn’t, you can use the IP address as well. But in normal cases it should get discovered and appear on the list.
